
Cecil W. Powell was the sole founder of Cecil W. Powell & Company. A graduate of Georgia Tech, he moved to Jacksonville in order to manage a surety bond department with another corporation. In time, however, his expertise in the insurance field fostered the desire to establish a company of his own. In January of 1935, Cecil W. Powell & Company made its first mark in the world of insurance. In 1973, Fitzhugh K. Powell, Sr., son of Cecil W. Powell, was named agency President and principal owner.
