Fitzhugh K. Powell, Sr.
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Powell, Sr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and has lived in Jacksonville since 1932. He attended the University of the South of Sewanee, Tennessee and Stetson University.

He began his insurance career in 1948 when he joined Cecil W. Powell & Company as a producer. He served as president of our agency for many years and is presently our Chairman of the Board. He is a 33° Grand Cross Scottish Rite Mason and a Shriner.

Mr. Powell, Jr. is a native of Jacksonville and is a graduate of Jacksonville University.

He began his insurance career at Cecil W. Powell & Company and has been the president of the agency since 1993. He presently holds the designation of Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Construction Risk, Insurance Specialist (CRIS) and Certified Work Comp Advisor (CWCA).  Mr. Powell supports the Boy Scouts of North Florida Council, Safari Club, Ducks & Quail Unlimited, Florida Theatre, Seamark Ranch, Gateway Community Services, Utility Contractors Association, Florida Association of Independent Agents and many others.

Mr. Powell, Jr. writes large commercial accounts including the tougher construction classifications and hard-to-place accounts. He has significant experience with all types of sensitive styled workers compensation accounts.
